What is Robotic Heart Surgery?
Robotic heart surgery uses the latest in robotic technology to do what human hands do. Robotic instruments are tiny 8mm in size. The surgeon who is specially trained to handle the robot sits at a console 2 to 3 feet away from the patient and controls the instruments to do heart surgery. This is exactly like laparoscopic surgery and the instruments are introduced through very small ports or holes in the chest.
